Kieron Bowie agrees mega transfer as Serie A return from Verona sparks Hibs payday The 23-year-old is on the move after Verona were relegated to Serie B last term Scotland striker Kieron Bowie has agreed a five-year-deal with Sassuolo. Record Sport exclusively broke the story that the Serie A side was in for the Hellas Verona star earlier this month. Sassuolo have now agreed to pay £10 million plus future add-ons for the talented forward. The 23-year-old has also thrashed out terms on a long-term deal until the summer of 2031. He will join Scotland teammate Josh Doig at Sassuolo. Serie A rivals Cagliari, Bologna and Lazio were also keen but needed to sell before they could meet the asking price. There was also German, Portuguese and English interest but the player’s preference was to remain in Italy. Verona wants a quick deal so they can fund their own rebuild after relegation to Serie B. The move will also see Hibs cash-in. The Easter Road club are entitled to around 15 per cent of any profit. They sold Bowie to Verona for £6million back in January. So they are in line for around £500,000 although that figure could increase. Bowie hit four goals in 14 games for struggling Verona, netting against the likes of Inter and Juventus. His performances saw him catch the eye of others Serie A sides. The ex-Raith Rovers star was surprisingly omitted from Scotland’s World Cup squad.
