Gvidas Gineitis 'ready' for Celtic transfer consideration as interest in Torino star directly addressed
Hoops are reportedly very keen on the midfielder, who has scored five times in 29 caps for Lithuania
Gvidas Gineitis' agent has revealed he has held talks about a potential move to Celtic and that the player is 'ready' to consider joining the Premiership champions.
However, he insists that the Hoops are yet to table Serie A club Torino with an official offer for the Lithuania star.
The Parkhead giants were linked with the midfielder earlier this summer and are now said to be ramping up that interest.
Boss Martin O'Neill is keen to bolster his options in the middle third of the pitch, with West Ham set to return with an improved offer after seeing a bid of £20million plus a further £5million in add-ons for Arne Engels thrown out by Celtic.
Japan international Reo Hatate also faces an uncertain future with the club.
Despite reports suggesting that a Hoops' bid for his client has been launched Gineitis' representative Dmitry Vinokurov is adamant a deal is far from being done.
But he admits the player has responded well to Celtic's interest.
Speaking to CeltsAreHere, he said: "Some representatives from Celtic have contacted me, but I haven't received any offer yet.
"I appreciate their commitment and am ready to collaborate, but I also need to keep working on other options for Gvidas.
"It's not true that an offer has already been made. Gvidas appreciates the interest from such an important club and would be ready to evaluate any potential offer."
Celts also remain in discussions with Paderborn to try and sign playmaker Mika Baur.
The Germany U21 international is into the final year of his contract with the Bundesliga new boys who insist they are willing to run the risk of losing the player for nothing next summer if he sticks around for the coming campaign.
