Celtic await Gvidas Gineitis transfer trigger from Torino to replace Engels as Hassan 'refuses offer'
There looks set to be plenty of movement in the market at Celtic Park this month
Celtic have been left in limbo in their pursuit of Gvidas Gineitis by Torino as the club weigh up their next big sale.
The 23-year-old is back on the Hoops' shopping list with Arne Engels inching towards the Parkhead exit.
West Ham have ramped up their interest in the Belgian international with a bid being knocked back by the Glasgow giants last week - but the English Championship outfit look set to return with an increased offer in the coming days.
Gineitis was considered by the Hoops when Nottingham Forest had a £25million bid turfed out back in January, and interest in the Lithuania international have resurfaced with Gineitis' agent has revealing he has held talks about a potential move to Glasgow's East End.
While the player's representative claimed his client is "ready" to join Celtic, he notes that the Hoops are yet to table an official offer for the Serie A club to consider.
Sport Italia now state that a deal could hinge on attacker Alieu Njie and a move to Crystal Palace.
It is claimed that Torino hope to keep Njie at the club despite interest from the Premier League club, and would consider "sacrificing" Gineitis to bring in cash rather than sell to Palace.
Palace are said to be ready to test the Italian sides resolve with a €20million (£17.4million) offer.
Celtic are also keen on a winger having revived their interest in Frosinone forward Fares Ghedjemis - with rivals Rangers also putting in a big for the Algeria international.
But hopes of bringing Egypt World Cup star Haissem Hassan to Parkhead appear to be drifting.
Celtic had been in talks over a deal for the Real Oviedo star - with chiefs at the Spanish club sticking to his £10m release clause despite the wide man having just a year remaining on his deal.
Reports in France claim that Marseille have reached an agreement with the player and are currently in talks over a fee with Oviedo.
Hassan has been training on his own following the tournament as he pushes for a move, and it has been claimed that Hassan "refused offers from some clubs and is prioritising Marseille" - and is willing to wait for the Ligue 1 side.
