LAHORE - The Commissioner Cup Donkey Cart Race will be held in Karachi to celebrate Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day. The event is being organised under the patronage of Karachi Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi. According to ACG Karachi’s Waqas Abbasi, the race will begin from Native Jetty Bridge and conclude at the Commissioner Office. Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab will at-tend the prize distribution ceremony as the chief guest. Commissioner Karachi’s Director Sports, Ghu-lam Muhammad Khan, has been appointed as the event coordinator, while Abdul Razzaq Baloch will serve as the organiser. In preparation for the race, Waqas Abbasi and Ghulam Muhammad met DIG Traffic Syed Pir Muhammad Shah to discuss traffic management arrangements. The DIG assured full cooperation and later chaired a high-level meeting attended by SSPs from all Karachi districts and other senior officials to finalise security and traffic plans.
