Lahore, Islamabad regions join hands to strengthen domestic cricket

LAHORE - A delegation from the Lahore Region Cricket Association (LRCA), led by Man-ager Cricket Operations Abid Hussain, met Islamabad Region Cricket Association (IRCA) President and JJ Group Chief Executive Junaid Akhtar to discuss strengthening cooperation and promoting domestic cricket across the two regions. The delegation congratulated Junaid Akhtar and his team on their com-prehensive victory in the recent IRCA elections and wished them success in their new responsibilities. The meeting focused on enhancing cricketing ties between the Lahore and Islamabad regions, ex-panding collaboration, strengthening the domestic cricket structure, and creating greater opportuni-ties for talented young players. Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination, regular consultation and the exchange of expertise to further improve regional cricket. Abid Hussain expressed confidence in Junaid Akhtar’s leadership, saying Akhtar’s administrative skills and strategic approach would play a key role in the development of domestic cricket and the nurturing of emerging talent. The LRCA dele-gation included Cantt Zone Lahore CA President Mashhood Hussain Shirazi, Sajid Memorial Club Presi-dent M Owais Sarwar and Khizra Club SVP Ch Ghulam Ali. The delegation reaffirmed its commitment to building stronger and more productive cricketing relations between the two regions. Junaid Akhtar emphasised that cooperation, consultation and the sharing of experiences among regional associa-tions were essential for the continued growth of Pakistan’s domestic cricket.
