Just over 24 hours later, the BVB are reportedly leading the race for FC Barcelona's right-back Hector Fort, with Florian Plettenberg revealing that they are exploring a deal for the 20-year-old right now. He further stated that talks have taken place between the parties and Dortmund are aware of the full details surrounding a transfer for the young gun. According to Matteo Moretto, the Bundesliga side are best positioned to sign him right now too for having shown concrete interest even though Fort himself prefers a Premier League move instead. A promising wing-back, Fort has apparently fallen out of Hansi Flick's plans and is hence eyeing a move away from Catalonia. The Signal Iduna Park offers him an environment conducive to personal growth as the player is reportedly determined to prove his worth following a disappointing loan spell with Elche. During his time with the LaLiga outfit, Fort's time on the field was hampered by a shoulder injury that sidelined him for a vast majority of last season. At Dortmund, he'd not only see consistent gametime but also enjoy European exposure with the side competing in the Champions League.
