Beckham is hoping to kickstart his NFL career once again, returning to where it all began. He signed a one-year deal with the Giants to head back to New York and play for the franchise that selected him in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. In his first game back, quarterback Jaxson Dart entered the blue medical tent following a huge hit. The star receiver was a Pro Bowler in each of his first three seasons, before injuries slowed his 2017 and 2018 campaigns. He was traded to the Cleveland Browns for a package that included a first-round pick, but further injuries and bad situations stunted his career. After winning a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams and tearing his ACL in the process, Beckham has been a bit-part player. He returns to the Giants as a role player rather than the focal point of the offense, but the 33-year-old received the welcome of a superstar. Against the Vikings, Beckham returned to MetLife Stadium as a member of the Giants for the first time in nearly eight years. The crowd showed him love, wildly cheering on his first play back with quarterback Jameis Winston throwing him the ball. Beckham proved it wasn’t purely a sentimental occasion either. In the second quarter, he hauled in a Winston pass on a slant, rolling back the years to more cheers from the jubilant fans. In 2023, he signed a one-year deal worth $15 million with the Baltimore Ravens and helped the team reach the AFC Championship after he had missed the entire 2022 season, having torn his ACL in Super Bowl LVI, where he caught a touchdown in the Rams’ victory. Beckham appeared in 14 games for the Ravens and averaged a career-high 16.1 yards per reception — but he only managed 35 receptions for 565 yards and three touchdowns in a somewhat disappointing year for the former superstar. The 2024 season with the Miami Dolphins was another difficult season, and he sat out the 2025 campaign. Beckham was a 1,000-yard receiver five times in his first eight seasons, but he’s spent the recent campaigns battling through several severe injuries. His time off the field has left him rusty, which may be reflected in his disappointing showings in both 2023 and 2024. Still, Harbaugh spoke effusively of Beckham during an April press conference. He told reporters, before he signed the receiver: “He and I do talk. We do text. We've maintained a really great relationship. “He's one of my very favorite people in the world. It's not like you don't talk to guys on things like that. And certainly we have.”
