Birmingham City boss makes claim about result after draw with Sheffield United Sheffield United and Birmingham City played out a goalless draw at Bramall Lane in their Championship opener Birmingham City boss Chris Davies said he felt his side deserved to win their match against Sheffield United as the two teams drew 0-0 at Bramall Lane on Saturday evening. In a match of few chances both sides had opportunities to snatch a win but a draw always felt like a fair result. That view wasn’t held by Davies though, who was however happy to take a point. “I think we were the team most likely to win that match,” said Davies. “That's one or two, we had so many moments around there, blocks, chances. I think we, for me, were the team that probably deserved anyone to win it. “But, you have to say, coming to a place like this, first game of the season, it's a point game. Yeah, there's a couple of moments, I think one of them there has been sort of like switched and for various reasons we just weren't in a position to tap in basically. Dimitri put a lovely ball in off his left foot as well. “We had a good breakaway chance, sent pieces, Jay had a shot. So there was a lot there and we obviously had that moment where O'Hare slides in the striker and James has to come out. But yeah, overall I think I said to the players, it's not so much words to describe a game, it's a feeling when you play football. “What did it feel like as a team? To me the feeling was that we were ready to compete, we were ready to do everything you need to do in the heat of battle at places like this. So I think it's an encouraging day for us.”
