Club Brugge are pursuing Rangers‘ Tuur Rommens amid claims of Manchester United‘s interest in Joaquin Seys. Derek McInnes could see the left-back leave Ibrox this summer, especially if Seys were to move elsewhere.
That’s according to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri. He took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to cover the Jupiler Pro League side’s interest in the Rangers player.
Manchester United links impacting Rangers
The British press have talked about the Red Devils wanting to sign the 21-year-old this summer. Earlier today, Sport Witness covered claims from Belgium that Manchester United didn’t contact Club Brugge.
However, their manager, Ivan Leko, said he’s proud of the reports linking him to the Old Trafford club. His side want to retain the defender, but the manager isn’t certain.
He said: “If there’s a lot of money on the table, it’s obviously not easy to say no. The board’s aim is still to build a team that’s even better than last season. The right time to leave will come. Tzolis has proved that. Let’s hope they’re all still here in September.”
The uncertainty around Seys has seen the Belgian club identify the Rangers man as a target.
Club Brugge approach Rangers
According to Sacha Tavolieri, Club Brugge have ‘genuine interest’ in Tuur Rommens and have contacted Derek McInnes’ side.
They made an approach to ask about the 23-year-old’s situation at Ibrox and the terms of a potential summer transfer. There’s no mention of a figure, and Transfermarkt value him at €7m.
As things stand, the Belgian club haven’t sent an offer to Rangers. The journalist states their interest in the Ibrox fullback could be because of Joaquin Seys’ possible exit.
He comes up with this report hours after the Club Brugge manager raised doubts about losing Seys following the Manchester United links.
The Jupiler Pro League side could be worried about claims of Manchester United’s interest, in Seys and are focusing on his replacement. Should Michael Carrick’s side decide to bet on him, it may impact Rommens’ immediate future at Rangers.
