Martin O’Neill has eased concerns over whether Yang Hyun-jun will be out for an extended period with injury after the winger missed Celtic’s 4-0 win over Dundee United at Tannadice on Saturday night. O’Neill was quick to make clear that it was merely a precaution and appeared far less concerned than some supporters may have been before the game. He said: (TCW), “Yang was, he was really stiff, very, very stiff after training on Thursday, yeah, Thursday, and missed yesterday’s training. “But we’re hoping that he should be OK for Wednesday.” It is certainly a positive update, and hopefully Yang could at the very least be on the bench against LASK and, at best, start the game. O’Neill may be hesitant to start Yang on Wednesday given the issue, but it is certainly an update supporters will welcome. Celtic’s next two games against LASK over the coming 10 days are as close to season-defining as it gets at this stage of the campaign, given the Hoops’ poor Champions League qualifying record in recent years. O’Neill will be desperate to end that run against the Austrian champions over two legs and having Yang available would give him another attacking option for Wednesday night.
