Striker Marvin Ducksch has a number of options after informing Birmingham City of his wish to move on this summer, it has been claimed. The German signed a three-year deal when he joined Blues from Werder Bremen 12 months ago. He scored 11 goals in 36 appearances in all competitions last season. But barely a year after putting pen to paper, Ducksch could be on the move again. He opened the door to a possible exit when he spoke publicly last month about being in talks with other clubs. It is claimed one of the forward’s key motivations for seeking a move is the possibility of “playing a bigger role” elsewhere. It is suggested he is keen to take on “more responsibility” and wants to be “leading the way” as a player. An agreement with Blues is said to have already been reached, with the club not planning to stand in the forward’s way if he finds the right move. The front man reportedly has a €1 million (roughly £860,000) release clause in his contract but it is suggested he could even be allowed to depart on a free transfer. The two-time Germany international confirmed he is in talks with other clubs during an appearance on German podcast At Broski – The Sports Show earlier this summer. "I'm definitely in talks with several clubs, including some in the Bundesliga. But it's still relatively early," he said. Asked if he would like to return to the Bundesliga, Ducksch added: "I'm relatively open to that. But of course, if there's a club where I'm convinced by the whole concept, then I would definitely like to return to the Bundesliga or to Germany." Ducksch has already been linked with German clubs Augsburg and Hertha Berlin. Bild report he also has “concrete interest” from across the Atlantic, in Orlando City. The MLS outfit are said to be “exploring the possibility” of snapping him up, although the indication is Ducksch has not made up his mind about what might be next. Ducksch lost his place in Blues’ starting line-up toward the end of last season, despite finishing as the club’s joint top scorer. Manager Chris Davies utilised Jay Stansfield and August Priske as a pairing in the closing weeks and they will be afforded time to develop their partnership next season. Earlier this month, Ducksch left Blues’ pre-season training camp in Portugal due to an injury. “Marvin is going to be a few weeks,” boss Davies told BirminghamLive at the time. “He’s picked something up out here and we’ve had to send him home to get him scanned. It looks like it’s going to be a few weeks before he’s back training.”
