Celtic cruised into tomorrow’s League Cup quarter-final draw thanks to a 4-0 win over Dundee United at Tannadice.
Clinical finishing differentiated between the two sides with United hitting the woodwork four times inside the first 55 minutes.
By that stage Celtic were leading by first half goals from Auston Trusty and Camilo Duran.
Sebastian Tounekti and Ben Nygren doubled Celtic lead by the 65th minute as the home fans headed for the exits.
After the mainly laboured efforts last season the away support lapped up the goals as Celtic cut open the United defence almost at will.
United struck the base of Vil Sinisalo’s right hand post twice in the first 15 minute as they threatened to build on last season’s two wins over Celtic.
CELTIC DISCOVER THEIR SCORING EDGE
Back then Celtic had limited striking options, over the summer that has been rectified.
With a recognisable forward line Ben Nygren has found an extra edge to his game. Even without scoring Kasper Hogh was central to the success of the visitors.
Trusty’s near post header in the 22nd broke the deadlock. Eighty seconds later Duran opened his Celtic account with a deft touch from six yards out.

After making four changes to the side that beat Kilmarnock last week Martin O’Neill got to see that there is some depth to his squad.
During the second half Mika Baur and Haissem Hassan made their debuts as a new look Celtic 2026 side came together.
In the 90th minute United hit woodwork for the fifth time.
Next up is a very different test in LASK the champions of Austria.
Unlike against Kairat Almaty a year ago Celtic go into this Play Off in confident form.
Kilmarnock, Aberdeen and Ross County will join the hoops in the League Cup draw with the other ties decided tomorrow.
