Liverpool fans will hopefully soon see major ground made on the club’s talks to sign Bradley Barcola, with PSG wrapping up deals for Ferran Torres and Mika Godts.
According to Le Parisien, Liverpool are ready to pay €140m including bonuses for Barcola.
This would equate to around £126m, which would break the Premier League transfer record for the second successive season after the £125m paid to Newcastle United for Alexander Isak last summer.

This follows reports from TEAMtalk earlier this week that PSG are ready to accept a lower fee for the Frenchman.
Graeme Bailey said: “Paris Saint-Germain are making progress on a deal for Ajax winger Mika Godts as they prepare to let Bradley Barcola leave, with TEAMtalk able to reveal the two moves are now intrinsically linked.
“PSG have informed Liverpool that they are willing to lower their asking price for Barcola, but the Reds will need to move significantly closer to their valuation if they are to complete the deal.
“At the same time, TEAMtalk understands PSG have made a fresh offer for Godts which is now close to Ajax’s valuation, with the expectation that an agreement for the 21-year-old could be reached this weekend.
“Barcola has already agreed personal terms with Liverpool and the player’s preference for a move to Anfield has been clear throughout the process.”
Fabrizio Romano reports that a breakthrough will come now that PSG are close to completing summer business
“What does it (the Torres and Godts arrivals) mean? That there is an expectation there could be movements around the situation of Bradley Barcola,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.
“Because the situation of Barcola remains absolutely linked to Liverpool. I never stopped telling you and I remain absolutely all in on this story, because Liverpool want Barcola.
“Liverpool are negotiating for Barcola, and because I was believing in this news already in April, May, when the story and the narrative around was that Barcola was untouchable. But I remain on this story again today.
“Liverpool are still trying for Barcola. There’s still a gap in financial valuation between what PSG want and what Liverpool offer, but they’re still working for Barcola.
“The financial agreement with the player is okay, and now Liverpool and PSG keep talking, exchanging messages and discussing for Barcola. The deal is alive.”
Barcola breakthrough is likely also linked to imminent Spurs move for Gakpo
Spurs are, according to widespread reports, ready to make their move to sign Cody Gakpo, which will provide Liverpool with more money and, crucially, the space in their squad for Barcola. Without selling Gakpo, there isn’t a free non-homegrown spot in their squad.
Ronald Araujo’s loan move to Anfield means the last available NHG spot on Liverpool’s roster is gone, which therefore means Gakpo must be sold to open space for Barcola.
