Celtic are reportedly showing concrete interest in Stade de Reims midfielder Mory Gbane, according to a report from France. The midfielder only joined the French club in February 2025, when Reims were still in Ligue 1, but he has quickly become an important part of their side. Gbane has made 49 appearances in all competitions since arriving and has built a reputation as a strong, reliable presence in the middle of the pitch. At 6ft 2in, he brings physical power and is comfortable winning the ball back, but the French report also highlights his technical ability and quality in possession. That balance is likely to be part of what has caught Celtic’s attention. Martin O’Neill has already spoken about the need to strengthen the squad this summer, and midfield remains an area where Celtic could look to add more depth and experience. Gbane would offer a different option in that department. He is mainly used as a defensive midfielder, but he is not simply a ball-winner.
