Brentford ended their pre-season with a stunning 7-0 win at home against Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt, with Kevin Schade the standout player, ending up with two goals and two assists. Keane Lewis-Potter chipped a ball to the back post after Frankfurt failed to clear a free-kick; Nathan Collins met the pass with a lovely cushioned header across goal, which Kevin Schade tapped in from close range. It was 2-0 10 minutes later. Mathias Jensen's corner was cleared only as far as Mamadou Sangaré, with the Mali international hitting a rasping effort on the bounce which was spilled into the net by Frankfurt keeper Kauã Santos. It had been a scintillating opening 25 minutes for Keith Andrews' side, causing issues for the Frankfurt high line on multiple occasions. The latest one almost led to a third goal for the Bees, with Igor Thiago's low cross inches from reaching Schade. Once more, that third goal was getting closer. Caoimhín Kelleher's goal kick was played long; Thiago stood offside, but left the ball, which allowed Dango Ouattara to run through one-on-one with Kauã. However, he tried to square it back to Thiago, and Otávio came in with a last-ditch challenge to deny the Bees. Eventually, it did come five minutes before half-time. Kauã played the ball out to Robin Koch, whose first touch was heavy, allowing Schade to pinch the ball, go around the Brazilian keeper, and square it to Thiago for one of his easiest goals in a Brentford shirt. In truth, the Bees had been fantastic in the first 45 minutes, particularly with their pace on the counter-attack, though it was partially aided by the high defensive line that Frankfurt were playing. Brentford added a fourth just after half-time, with some individual brilliance from Ouattara as he picked up the ball on the right, drove at Frankfurt's backline, and fired into the roof of the net. Three goals in twelve minutes The Bees were flying and had their fifth moments later. Thiago started a counter-attack which was spearheaded by Keane Lewis-Potter and Ouattara. Eventually the ball found its way back to Lewis-Potter, who curled his effort into the top corner for a quite brilliant finish. Another attack, another goal for Brentford. Jensen played the ball through Frankfurt's high line, Thiago made a very clever run in the right channel and drove into the box before firing low past his fellow countryman Kauã: 6-0 to the Bees. It wasn't long after until it was 7-0, with Kevin Schade getting his second goal of the game to go alongside his two assists. This time Thiago turned provider as he played through the German winger to fire past Kauã, who was picking the ball out of the net for the fourth time in 18 minutes. The 70-minute mark also brought home debuts for new signings Jaidon Anthony and Callum Wilson, as they replaced Thiago and Schade. They had chances to add to their tally, but 7-0 was how it finished, and Brentford completed a very productive pre-season in some style, opening up at the Gtech Community Stadium for the new season with a top performance. Who do both teams open their season against? Keith Andrews' side now prepares to return home next week, as they open up their 2026/27 Premier League campaign by hosting Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday evening. Frankfurt would take lessons from this, as they open up their season on Friday, August 21st, away at DJK Teutonia St. Tönis in the DFB Pokal.
