Reports emerging from France suggest Preston North End are to re-open talks for OGC Nice’s Kevin Carlos. The Spanish forward is looking to be sold by the French club this summer to raise funds after a disappointing first season in Southern France. Scoring just twice in all competitions, the 25-year old rejected the chance for a fresh start in England, turning down Preston as well as Turkish club Samsunspor. Albeit worrying, his form is most likely a temporary blip in his career and a move to the Championship could be what is needed to revitalise his career once more. Carlos possesses a lot of quality for a modern centre-forward, particularly one that would relish the challenges of the Championship. He’s got great ball-striking ability, a tall frame, strength, as well as physical and intelligent attributes that would make him a nuisance to defend against.
