Man Utd player ratings vs AC Milan: Six 5s and one 3/10 as Carrick humbled by Amorim Express Sport hands out player ratings after the Red Devils' clash with AC Milan. But Carrick's side switched off thereafter and conceded twice within 10 minutes, firstly to Alphadjo Cisse, and then the Rossoneri's big-money signing, Goncalo Ramos. The Italians snatched a fourth when Ruben Loftus-Cheek took advantage of a gaping hole in United's defence to sprint through and score. Senne Lammens - 6 Made some solid saves from half chances for the Italian side, including one super sharp save from close range. Could've maybe been more aware for the Milan first, and let a ball come across the face of goal for the second, but none of them were really really his fault. Ayden Heaven - 6 Sleepy for the Milan first, but overall pretty solid. Should play plenty of football this season. Harry Maguire - 5 Rose highest in the penalty area to head home early doors, but looked lost for the Milan equaliser later in the half. Stood around like a statue for the two Milan goals in the second half. Luke Shaw - 3 You'd be forgiven for thinking this was his first-ever match as a professional. For a player of his quality, it's remarkable how lost the Englishman looked throughout this game. The Milan fourth highlighted exactly why United are desperate for Lewis Hall's signature. Noussair Mazraoui - 6 Managed an hour, and wasn't exactly to blame for United's defensive shortcomings. Andrey Santos - 5 Was far too sloppy for the Milan goal, having clattered into one of his team-mates. Did settle down after that, but still has plenty to learn. Youri Tielemans - 6 It was his surging run that earned United the first-half penalty. Struggled to have much of an impact after that though. Bruno Fernandes - 5 Delivered a delicious ball for Maguire's opener, but was a bit haphazard after that. Never looked like converting the penalty kick and was weak in a 50/50 that led to Milan's first-half equaliser. Amad - 5 Similarly, the Ivorian wasn't anywhere near as influential as he has been on other outings for the Old Trafford outfit. Patrick Dorgu - 7 Could find himself playing quite a few minutes at left-wing this season, given United's deficiencies in that area. If he's taking goals as comfortably as that though, Carrick could certainly do a lot worse in that position. Matheus Cunha - 5 A bit of a passenger throughout the game. Only had 13 touches and none of them were shots. Will need a big improvement if he's to be United's leading forward this term. Substitutes Diogo Dalot - 6 By no means the worst of the second-half substitutes. Should come straight into the starting XI for next weekend's opener vs Hull City. Lisandro Martinez - 5 Allowed Loftus-Cheek to breeze past him for the fourth goal, but can be excused as he hasn't been in training long since returning from the World Cup. Bryan Mbeumo - 5 United needed a spark up front when he entered the pitch, but it didn't really arrive. Shea Lacey - 6 A proper livewire whenever he picked up the ball. Has an eye for a pass and is always looking to drive the ball forwards. Could be a useful asset for the Premier League side this term. Marcus Rashford - 6 The crazy thing is, he is probably still United's best attacker. Granted, the former Barcelona loanee didn't showcase that fully vs Milan, but there were glimpses. Carrick should be rolling out the red carpet to keep him at the club - it's unlikely they'll be able to sign anyone better. Kobbie Mainoo - 6 Might've been fearful of his place in the team given the midfield additions United have made this season. Today's game showed there will still be minutes for the effervescent midfielder.
