Mo Belloumi drifted in off the right before cutting inside and shooting straight at goalkeeper Yehvann Diouf when he really should have buried the chance. Other moments came and went for the Tigers, who looked crisp at times, though the French side were a threat on the counter. They should have been in front on the stroke of half-time but were thwarted by Konstantinos Tzolakis, who made an outstanding double point-blank save to keep the away team out. Hjerto-Dahl headed just wide in the second period, before Jakirovic made a host of changes on the hour with Lucas Herrington, Nobel Mendy, Matt Targett and Lucas Gourna-Douath coming on. Mendy came close to the opener with just over 15 minutes left, only to be thwarted by a fine save from Yehvann Diouf. Just over 15 minutes were left when Belloumi, Coyle and Crooks were replaced by Kieran Dowell, Paddy McNair and Abdus Omur. With only a couple of minutes to go, youngsters Tyrell Sellars-Fleming and Cathal McCarthy replaced McBurnie and Slater. The lack of depth up front was highlighted by that change, and that is something Jakirovic will be desperate to see corrected by 12:30pm next Saturday.
