Leicester City have rejected bids for Stephy Mavididi and Wout Faes, Russell Martin has confirmed.
Both players were absent from the Foxes' season opener at Notts County due to transfer speculation surrounding their futures at the King Power Stadium.
Mavididi has been linked with a move to Championship side Middlesbrough this week, while Faes has been expected to leave permanently following his loan spell with AS Monaco last season.
Martin confirmed before the match that the decision was down to the transfer interest in the pair, with new signings Admir Bristric and Harry Howell included in the squad. Following the draw at Meadow Lane, Martin revealed that the process of deciding their futures is ongoing.
When asked if they were close to sealing moves away from the club, Martin explained: "I just think, with the level of interest and discussions we've had, and they've been fantastic for us during pre-season, if I involve them today, then for two weeks I've got guys that are going to be involved in here all season, not in the squad and not involved.
"Then I have to say to them, 'by the way, these two guys have gone, now you can come back in', that's difficult to manage. There's no right or wrong.
"We're navigating change in the best way. They've been really respectful. Like I said, whilst they're here, they train, they're involved, but we have to be prepared to be without them.
"If they stay, no problem, I'll be really happy with both being here, but with the level and amount of interest we have, we've turned down bids for both, but that's ongoing.
"So we'll see, but I'm not sure anyone will go soon. This is football, right? So it has to be good for us and good for them."
