Leeds United player ratings vs Augsburg as Tarik Muharemovic shines but some struggle Read how Leeds United's players rated against Augsburg in this afternoon's friendly at Elland Road Leeds United ran out comfortable 4-0 winners in their final friendly of pre-season with a performance that will encourage Daniel Farke and supporters ahead of next weekend's season opener. Leeds took the lead inside 50 seconds when Anton Stach powered home his effort before new signing Tarik Muharemovic sprinkled some unexpected stardust with an over-head finish in the 19th minute. United went three to the good on 29 minutes when James Justin played a lovely give-and-go with Dominic Calvert-Lewin to slide the ball past Augsburg goalkeeepr Finn Dahmen inside the box. Leeds took their foot off the gas in the second half and changed to a back four midway through. While the hosts did hold their dominance their attacking threat was more subdued, but Lukas Nmecha managed to deftly find the net with a chip from Ao Tanaka's through-ball. Now it's for real stuff next week and Leeds go into the season with confidence. Here are how the players rated. James Trafford - Misjudged a through ball when coming out in the 20th minute. Found Dominic Calvert-Lewin consistently with his long ball. Every time he aimed for him, in fact. Took a defender outside of the box in the second half. Made one save all game. 8 Jayden Bogle - Energetic and proactive down the right. Sometimes caught out while sitting high, with others coming to the rescue. Cut out a later counter. 7 Joe Rodon - Showed good presence of mind in tight situations. As ever this pre-season, was seen very high on the right often. Was brilliant defensively on point, especially in the tackle. 8 Jaka Bijol - Positioned himself well to cut out through-balls. One excellent moment when he somehow found Bogle when he had two attackers on him and a third blocking the pass path. 7 Tarik Muharemovic - Gobbled up Augsburg attacker Uchenna Ogundu. Used intuition for his bicycle kick goal. Won his duels, including one that went just over the Augsburg bar from a corner. Passes forward always found the final third. 8 James Justin - Super one-two with Calvert-Lewin to grab the third after great movement. Used his left foot a lot more. Reading of the play was good, as usual. 7 Ethan Ampadu - Calmly went about his business. His passes were simple but line-cutting. Got his foot in, disrupting the Augsburg central attack. 8 Anton Stach - Thumped home his strike. Much sharper in the main. Looked for the right ball and did his bit going the other way too. 8 Harry Wilson - Used his body a lot more. Very busy and determined, even if the final bit was not quite there. Cannot fault his effort. 7 Brenden Aaronson - Chose the right option for the opening goal, passing to Stach rather than shooting. Often took a heavy touch when running onwards into the box. But some nice bits of play too. 7 Dominic Calvert-Lewin - Great bring-down in the build up to the opener before the ball ricocheted off him in the build up to the second. Well-timed ball for the feed for Justin's goal. Helped out in his own box too. 8 SUBS Sean Longstaff (67' for Stach) - Showed great feet and also sparked a turnover or two. Disciplined in his role. 6 Ao Tanaka (76' for Ampadu) - Forced a few regains of possession and played the well-timed ball through for Lukas Nmecha to find Leeds' fourth. 7 Daniel James (67' for Bijol) - Couldn't get into the game and was often muscled out of it. Best moment came when he won a corner. 4 Noah Okafor (67' for Wilson) - Showed a few bursts of pace and sprayed a nice ball out wide. 6 Joel Piroe (76' for Aaronson) - Deployed as the number 10. Didn't see much of the ball but when he did he didn't make the most of it. Very loose touches and passes. 3 Lukas Nmecha (67' for Calvert-Lewin) - Fantastic chip for his goal after a good run. 6 MANAGER: Daniel Farke - A perfect first half with tactics working in full flow, with goals coming from open play and set-pieces. Changed to a back four halfway through the second half, amid a 4-2-3-1 system.
