Derby County 'want' Huddersfield Town midfielder Tom Iorpenda after Notts County loan spell
Derby County have been credited with interest in a highly-rated Huddersfield Town midfielder
Huddersfield Town midfielder Tom Iorpenda is reportedly wanted by Derby County following his successful loan spell at Notts County.
The 21-year-old has only made 15 appearances at senior level for the Terriers, who recruited him from Brighton & Hove Albion’s academy in 2021.
However, Iorpenda has had plenty of senior exposure having spent the entirety of the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Notts County.

He was a standout figure in League Two for the Magpies and his exploits appear to have put him on Derby’s radar.
Mail Online have claimed the Rams want to lure Iorpenda from West Yorkshire having taken notice of his performances in the fourth tier.
It would be a blow for Huddersfield if Iorpenda was to move on, although it could prove difficult to stand in the way of a Championship opportunity if a bid is tabled.
Tom Iorpenda profile
When Notts County signed the midfielder on loan last summer, the club’s head of football Roberto Gagliardi said: “Tom, who stands at 6ft 3in, is an athletic, box-to-box midfielder with sound technique and excellent pedigree having come through Brighton and Huddersfield’s academies.
“He has been heavily involved with Huddersfield’s first team over the last two seasons and was unfortunate to have his momentum halted by a back injury he sustained around Christmas time.
“Tom returned to fitness towards the end of last season, making a substitute appearance against Leyton Orient, and will be fit and ready to go when pre-season begins at the end of this month.
“He has all the qualities you look for in a modern-day, dynamic midfielder and we’re excited to work with him to help us achieve our objectives.”
Derby finished eighth in the Championship table last season.
