Luton Town Beat Reading In 7-Goal Thriller

Well, what a start to the season!
It was far from perfect but, I reckon, this time last year we would have lost that game.
They say the secret of getting promotion is to get better results than last time out, last season, in two games against Reading last season we got 0 points, this time around we already have 3.
When Jake Richards gave Luton Town the lead, inside 6 minutes with a low drive, it looked as if it could be plain-sailing, but some calamitous defending saw Jack Marriott, a former Hatter, grab a clinical hat-trick.
His first, the equaliser, came after Kal Naismith played a blind back pass, criminal for a man of his experience.
The second came when Kasey Palmer played a loose ball in midfield and Marriott was not to waste a gilt-edged chance.
The third was a splendid finish after Naismith was far too easily knocked off the ball and Marriott slid his shot past the despairing dive of Josh Keeley.
Going into the interval 3-1 down was not what we expected ahead of the game.
But buoyed by the half-time words from Jack Wilshere, the Hatters were to mount a memorable fight back, courtesy of two goals from Kasey Palmer.
The first came after Palmer hit his volley into the ground with it bouncing over the defence and keeper while ethe second was a neat finish from further out wide.
With the game delicately balanced, but with Luton Town clearly the more accomplished side going forward, even if the defence looked a little suspect, the Hatters were to snatch the win when, in the 6th minute of stoppage time Kodua saw his shot hit the bar but he made no mistake when the ball was fed back to him, by Richards, the net rippled, the points belonged to Luton Town.
Cue pandemonium!
