Track Enterprises issues a statement
Rockingham Speedway is a high banked 1-mile oval in North Carolina. After funding from the state, the track was upgraded and repaved.
In recent years, NASCAR returned to famed track. They have hosted NASCAR O’Reilly Series and Truck Series events.
There was hopes that the NASCAR Cup Series would get a race at the track going forward. Cup Series teams have not visited the track since 2004.
Now, the track has stated that NASCAR will not return at all in 2027.

Track Enterprises served as the promoter of the recent NASCAR races hosted at Rockingham.
“The response from the fans over the past two years has been nothing short of incredible,” said Track Enterprises President, Bob Sargent.
“Bringing NASCAR back to Rockingham was a special opportunity, and the support we received from race fans, competitors, sponsors, local officials, and the entire community exceeded every expectation. While we’re disappointed that NASCAR won’t be racing at Rockingham in 2027, we remain optimistic about the future and look forward to exploring opportunities to bring racing back in the future.”
