Hull City are trying to sign Norway international Marcus Holmgren Pedersen from Italian Serie A side Torino, and it's expected that the Tigers will continue to push hard to get a deal done. City have identified the defender as a player they believe can make an impact in the Premier League, having gained vast experience playing in the top leagues in Italy and the Netherlands. It's understood City's initial approach, in the region of 5m euros for the right-back, has been knocked back for the World Cup star who scored in the 3-2 win over Senegal. Chairman Acun Ilicali is understood to not be deterred by the initial knockback and the club expect negotiations will continue with a willingness to get a deal done. The 26-year-old has played 86 times in Serie A for Torino, after moving from Feyenoord, where he made 60 appearances in the Eredivisie, while he's got vast experience playing in the Europa and Conference Leagues. He's out of contract in Turin next summer, and has been linked with a move to Bournemouth previously, while there's thought to be interest from the Bundesliga.
