After scoring 70 goals in 172 appearances for RB Leipzig, Nkunku's spell in England dwindled. He managed just 60 games for Chelsea with just 18 goals. Falling behind Nicolas Jackson in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge resulted in Nkunku seeking a move away, with United linked. The Reds turned down the move, and Nkunku went on to join Serie A giants AC Milan on a five-year deal worth £35m. The versatile attacker made 35 appearances, scoring eight goals. But Sky Italia now claim that he is no longer wanted by Amorim at the San Siro. It is said that the 28-year-old, alongside Fikayo Tomori, Pervis Estupinan, Santiago Gimenez, Youssouf Fofana, David Odogu and Filippo Terracciano have been deemed surplus to requirements by United's former head coach. The Portuguese, who left United in January, is planning to oversee a huge cull after an underwhelming AC Milan pre-season tour, which included a 3-0 thumping by Chelsea. And Nkunku appears to be one player who has no future under the former Sporting manager. United first took notice of the French forward four years ago, when then-manager Ralf Rangnick expressed interest in him while he was at RB Leipzig.
