Blackpool FC loanee explains Portsmouth exit as he shares reference from ex-Huddersfield Town teammate Jordan Williams became Blackpool’s fourth signing of the summer last week. Click here “I came through at Huddersfield with Fraser Horsfall, so I knew him. I played with Niall Ennis when I was younger with England. I spoke to them, and asked what the manager was like - they were glowing with confidence of how ee wants to play and how he is as a human. “They were two faces I know but I’ve come across a lot of the players in the past from playing with them, and it’s a good bunch so far. “I’ve been here as an away player and had tough experiences so it’ll be good to be on the other end of it now. It’s a great atmosphere here when things are going well, so hopefully we can get it rocking.” Williams has experience of enjoying success in League One, having been promoted with Barnsley back in 2019, and will be looking to replicate that on the Fylde Coast. For the last two years, he has been playing in the Championship with Pompey - featuring 53 times in all competitions during his stay on the South Coast, but has made the move to Blackpool to pick up more consistent game time as he enters the final year of his contract at Fratton Park. “I wanted to go and play football - that was the main thing,” he added. “Everyone thrives off playing, no one likes sitting on the bench. If you are on the bench, then you’ve got to help to drive the standards in training. “I just want to play football and this club has the attributes to keep pushing up the table. There’s a lot of quality in the group, so at the end of the season we’ll see where we’re at.”
