Ahead of the summer’s final pre-season game, several players need to show a good performance if they want to be a part of the squad. If we’re being brutally honest, we’ve not learned an awful lot this pre-season. There have been some positive signs, of course. Like we say, there have been signs and denying that would be wrong. Yet, we couldn’t confidently say _ player is going to do _ this season. Ultimately, we’ve not got enough to go off. So, as we head into the final game of pre-season, there are a few players that need to show something, based on the most recent line-up predictions. Three key players today The obvious starter here is Yunus Musah. He has never really shown what he can do for the Rossoneri, yet Ruben Amorim wants to keep him around. It’s a strange case; Musah is popular, and managers keep looking at him. However, it’s never stuck. So, fitting in central midfield, alongside Ardon Jashari, offers him what could be a final chance to show something of note. You can argue that he’s fighting an uphill battle, with most fans already unconvinced of him. So, the pressure will certainly be higher for him. Yet, if he shows signs of something, Amorim could be the one to unlock the investment. Then, we have Samuel Chukwueze. Used heavily this pre-season, the Nigerian winger has been converted into something of a wing-back, which has drawn questions from fans. If he is to stay, many would prefer him to be given a chance in a more advanced role. Instead, he’s seemingly trapped in a more defensive role and it hasn’t stuck yet. He’s not convinced just yet and this will be his biggest challenge so far. Finally, we have Koni De Winter, whose positioning at middle centre-back could certainly be interesting. The Belgian has been used heavily in pre-season and he could put his name forward to be a starter this season. After all, Amorim wants another central defender and if the Belgian can play the role, he may only need to look for another option, rather than a starter.
