Transfer gossip - Blackpool goalkeeper reportedly attracting Leicester City interest
Franco Ravizzoli is reportedly attracting interest from one of Blackpool’s League One rivals.
Blackpool back-up goalkeeper Franco Ravizzoli has been linked with a move away from Bloomfield Road.
Alan Nixon reports that the Argentinian is attracting interest from Leicester City, having previously played under Foxes boss Russell Martin at MK Dons.
The 29-year-old made the move to Bloomfield Road last summer as a free agent, having spent two seasons with Wycombe Wanderers.
While he was initially signed to take part in an open fight to be the Seasiders’ first-choice between the sticks, he mainly found himself as a back-up to Bailey Peacock-Farrell, making just eight appearances last term.
Last month, Ravizzoli spoke to the Gazette about his first year with Blackpool.
“My goal doesn’t change no matter what,” he said.
“I spoke to the gaffer, and he knows that I’m going to try my best every day - I think I showed that last season as well. He knows I just want a fair fight, and (decide on) who is playing best.
“It was hard last season, I’m not going to lie. It was for all of us, but especially for me because I didn’t get to play much.
“I managed to stay fit and positive. I tried to play as well as possible when I got the chance.
“This is a new season, so I’m just preparing myself and training hard every day to see if I can push Bailey for the number one shirt.”
