Newcastle United set for 'take it or leave it' offer for Joe Willock after Besiktas talks The Magpies have been in talks to sell Joe Willock for the last month with Turkish side Besiktas Newcastle United remain in talks with Turkish side Besiktas on the prospect of selling former Arsenal star Joe Willock. The Magpies have already rejected a £10m offer back in July for Willock from the Super Lig side but have been holding out for a fee of around £17m this summer following weeks of talks. Chronicle Live understands that Arsenal will also be entitled to a 10% portion of the fee, underlining Newcastle's willingness to seal a bigger offer for the midfielder who has 19 United goals to his name. Suggestions coming from Turkey on Friday indicated that Besiktas will not pay more than £10.2m for the player's services and cite that his contract situation - with one year left on his deal - should bring the price down. Willock has played in all of Newcastle's pre-season friendly games against Gateshead, Bristol City, Valencia and Everton, playing a key part in the move that led to a goal for Harvey Barnes in the 3-1 defeat at Murrayfield and as far as fitness is concerned, would be in contention to start against Liverpool. Neither Eddie Howe nor Matthias Jaissle have experienced any issues with the player's attitude, with Willock focused on the workload this summer. Willock essentially shut down talk that he will be leaving Newcastle this summer at the end of last season - by referencing his plans to stay with the Magpies FOUR times in an interview with the club's TV channel. Willock said then: "People are going to the World Cup, and some people are having a break. From there, have a break but full focus on coming back next season and coming back in the best possible way and look to next season." When asked if certain players could leave before the window shuts on September 1, Jaissle said last week he was still assessing the squad and he has now had a couple of viewings of Willock. He said then: "It would be unfair to judge them now after one session, so they can show up, like I just said, and we have still time. "Not everyone will be happy, it's normal in football, one or the other wants to leave as well, but again, we have time. "First, let me come here and do the job, let's work all together and then we'll make the decisions."
