"He's a player I want" - Wolves boss on Ladislav Krejci's future
Ladislav Krejci is wanted by Wolves but could still move on.
Cesar Peixoto insists Wolves want to keep Ladislav Krejci but admits there is still a chance he is sold before the transfer window closes.
The defender’s permanent move to Wolves was only made official this summer for an additional £20million, on top of the £6million loan fee the club paid to take him from Girona last year.
Leeds were showing interest in him earlier in the summer, while a number of clubs have been monitoring Krejci ahead of a potential move.
Peixoto now admits he would like to keep the Czechia captain, but that a move away is still possible as Wolves aim to trim their squad.
The head coach said: "He's a player who has a contract with the club. He's a good player for us and me as a coach, I want the good players with me.
"He came later and he's not fit enough to play in the starting XI, but he's a player I like, a player I want.
"But we have to see what happens in the market, if we stay with him or not.
"I don't want him to leave, but like we said before, we have a lot of players with quality with a contract and we don't want to stay with all the players in the team.
"Krejci is an important player but with a lot of quality and we as a club want him to stay, but we want to wait until the market closes.”
There will still be a number of outgoings this summer, with Hwang Hee-chan and Sasa Kalajdzic now told by Wolves that they can leave before the window closes.
Ki-Jana Hoever and Enso Gonzalez are also likely to go and Peixoto has revealed that those four players are no longer training with the first team.
He said: "Some players stay out of the team like Channy, Sasa, Hoever and Enso, they are training with the under-21s.
"We have a lot of players and have to manage the training session. It's difficult for me to put some players to run around the pitch and I want the team to close as soon as possible to build a strong group, a strong spirit of the group and a strong team.”
