Kilmarnock are the first team through to the quarter-finals of the Premier Sports Cup after a 3-2 win over rivals Ayr United in a thrilling match at Rugby Park. Owen Stirton gave Ayr an early lead but Joe Hugill equalised just before half-time for Killie. Ross Taylor put the visitors back in front with a superb finish in 48 minutes but Michael Schjonning-Larsen made it 2-2 with an excellent strike in 79 minutes. Extra time was looming when Nicky Clescenco clipped the ball into the net for the winner to the delight of the Kilmarnock fans in the big crowd of 12,365.
