Ross Nelson joins on loan! We are pleased to announce the signing of 18 year-old defender Ross Nelson on a season-long loan deal from SPFL League 2 side Stirling Albion! Ross is a right-sided defender who came through Motherwell’s academy before signing for Stirling Albion. Although injury delayed his development last season, Ross helped Stirling Albion’s development side to win the league cup and has been training regularly with the first team and was involved in the Binos’ preseason. ‘Gers manager Kevin Haynes commented, ‘I am really pleased to bring Ross into the club. He is hungry for first team minutes and is rated highly at Stirling Albion, so this loan spell is something that will help Ross progress while also bringing an exciting young player to Shielfield. He has a good level of aggression and intensity defensively, and has the ability to put in an excellent delivery from a wide area.’ Ross will go straight into the ‘Gers squad for today’s Lowland League East match with the University of Stirling at MKM Shielfield Park, in a 3pm kick off.
