Leeds United‘s Lucas Perri has been linked with a move to Torino and the transfer is facing a delay, once again.
The Brazilian fell out of favour in the second half of last season, after being a regular in the first few months of the campaign.
This led him to consider a Whites exit, with Sport Witness having covered how Torino have come close to signing him. They have agreed personal terms and a deal with Leeds United has been approaching.
The Italian side are now facing competition and there are new developments around the player.
Marseille attempting new deal
TorinoGranata report there has been a strong revival from Marseille, who want to sign the Leeds United player. They pushed in the past but the player was keen on joining Torino.
In the meantime, Il Toro have been waiting for him to arrive in Turin and complete his medical. Initially, he was expected to arrive today but the Marseille inclusion is causing new delays.
There is cautious optimism that the move to Torino should still go through.
At the same time, Il Toro have started to look around, just in case the Perri deal falls through. Michele Di Gregorio is an option and he is a readily available target but for now, the deal for the Leeds United player should still be on track.
Our take: An advantage for the Whites
This inclusion of Marseille is only helping Leeds United. They could raise the value of the 28-year-old, who is currently on track to join Torino on an initial loan.
The French side could offer something different, especially if the player is keen.
For Perri, he’ll get regular football at either of the two clubs.
