Blackpool injury update issued - with 'good' news for former Exeter City man The League One season gets underway this weekend with Blackpool taking on Wycombe Wanderers. Blackpool wing-back Ilmari Niskanen is set to be out for the next four weeks due to the shoulder injury he suffered on his competitive debut in Tangerine. The Finland international, who joined the Seasiders on a free transfer from Exeter City earlier this summer, was forced off during the first half of Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Grimsby Town in the opening round of the Carabao Cup. Elsewhere, Dale Taylor missed the trip to Blundell Park completely after suffering a fresh hamstring problem, while Tom Bloxham and Dion Charles just missed out on the matchday squad, but should be ready for this weekend’s League One clash against Wycombe Wanderers at Bloomfield Road. “Most clubs are in this position,” said Blackpool boss Ian Evatt. “Ilmari (Niskanen) is actually good news, or as good as it can be. It was innocuous. A dislocated shoulder that was put back in. Fortunately there’s no ligament damage, so it’ll probably be a four week injury. We’ll just rehab it, and get some strength into him. “With it being his shoulder, he shouldn’t lose much fitness as he’s able to run without contact. “Other than the contact, he’ll still be ready to go in four weeks time. “Dale Taylor is looking like a six to eight week injury.
