Blackpool FC Ladies have enjoyed an encouraging pre-season ahead of their 2026/27 campaign, showcasing plenty of determination, togetherness and footballing ability throughout a busy summer of action. The Seasiders began their preparations at the Rachel Duncan Tournament, where they battled their way through to the quarter-finals. They then enjoyed tournament success on home soil, lifting the Blackpool Tournament trophy after conceding just two goals across the two days. The achievement highlighted the strength and unity within the squad, as the Tangerines combined defensive resilience with some impressive football. Their first pre-season friendly saw Blackpool narrowly beaten 3-2 by Haslingden, but the Seasiders quickly bounced back with a fantastic 5-0 victory over Altrincham. It was an outstanding attacking display, with goals coming from all over the pitch as Blackpool demonstrated the depth of quality within their squad. The positive performances continued against Bolton’s reserves, with the Seasiders producing another dominant showing to secure a 2-0 victory and another clean sheet. Morecambe would then provide a tougher test, claiming a 3-1 victory over the Tangerines. However, Blackpool responded impressively when they travelled to Darwen to face the tier five side. With a league separating the two teams, the challenge represented arguably Blackpool’s biggest test of pre-season. The Seasiders rose to the occasion, starting strongly and battling for the full 90 minutes. Their heart, determination and quality on the ball ultimately saw them claim a superb 3-1 victory.
