Russell Martin reveals Leicester City transfer priority after Bristric signing

Russell Martin has confirmed that Leicester City's transfer priorities now lie elsewhere following the signing of striker Admir Bristric. The Foxes had been in the market for a new striker throughout the window following Jordan Ayew and Patson Daka's exits. Kirsten Otchere, who has since joined Cheltenham Town on loan, and Nathan Opoku were both used during pre-season, while Liam Cullen arrived from Swansea City. Bobby De Cordova-Reid started the Carabao Cup win over Northampton at centre-forward and Bristric's arrival this week has given the Foxes manager another option. There had been hope that Leicester could make another addition up front before the window shuts, but Martin has insisted that the priority is now on other areas. Asked if he thought the club would be looking to add another striker alongside the Bosnian, he said: “No, I think we have Liam Cullen, who is number nine and is doing a good job because he’s so flexible. Bobby [Reid] as well, the last time he played in this division was as a striker. FOLLOW ON FACEBOOK! All the latest Leicester City news on LeicestershireLive’s Leicester City Facebook page! And then there’s two weeks of the window [left], so we’ll keep assessing and keep looking. "If something comes up that we really like and works out for us, then possibly, but right now, I think there’s other areas we have to work on." Bristric is in contention to make his debut for Leicester against Notts County tomorrow after completing his transfer earlier this week. The 23-year-old has trained with his new teammates and Martin has explained what he will bring to Leicester's attack. "It gives us something different, that’s for sure," he explained. "He’s an exciting young forward. I think one I'm really looking forward to working with and we think he has a lot of tools, a lot of growth in him as well, a lot of development to be had. "He’ll hopefully be one that thrives and grows in the new environment, good players around him because he's done really well so far. He was flagged a while ago by the club and then I came in and really liked the attributes that he has. "It’s taken a while to get it done because there was a lot of interest in him again." He added: “He’s aggressive. He can come and link the game, he can run behind. He can do a bit of both. "He’s a really good finisher, he just wants to score [and is] hungry for goals. He has a good presence, like good energy. I like him, very confident in a good way. I don’t want to put too much pressure on him because he had a lot to work on as well, he’s very young, but he has a lot of tools that I think can help us quickly"
