He was also skipper in the EFL Cup at Rotherham last weekend but completed a move to Championship rivals Derby on Friday, just 24 hours before the new league season. Campbell was told of the captaincy news on Friday morning and said: “It really is an absolute honour to be named club captain at this special football club. “I understand the privilege and great responsibility that comes with wearing the armband, especially at a club that has had so many iconic skippers over the years. “I’m excited to be leading a top group of players and working under the gaffer this season. We’ve had a strong summer and everyone is buzzing for the season to start. “The supporters have taken me in and been amazing since I joined, and I’m determined to help make this an enjoyable year for them. “I can’t wait to lead the boys out at Norwich this weekend.” Morrison is also confident in the likes of Nat Phillips, Jayson Molumby and even new recruit Felix Horn Myhre he has players with leadership qualities throughout the squad.
