West Brom confirm sale of young midfield star The Baggies have sanctioned an exit. Albion have confirmed the sale of Souleyman Mandey to Austrian club Grazer AK after the young midfielder turned down the offer of a new contract. The 20-year-old has returned to his homeland in a deal which includes a small fee and what is understood to be a significant sell-on clause. Mandey joined the Baggies from Rangers in 2023 and made his first senior appearance in a 2-1 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday on the final day of last season. Albion had been keen to keep the player on board and offered him a new contract. But when Mandey made clear he would not sign a new deal, the Baggies took the decision to move him on now, rather than lose him for free next summer. An Albion statement read: “Everyone at the football club would like to wish Souleyman the very best of luck in his future career.” Mandey has followed his former youth team-mate Eseosa Sule in leaving the Hawthorns. Sule joined St Mirren earlier this summer in a deal which also includes a sell-on clause.
