Vitor Matos in Vipotnik transfer admission as full Burgess injury timeline revealed The Swans boss has given his reaction to Hull's failed bid for Zan Vipotnik Vitor Matos insists Zan Vipotnik is happy to stay at Swansea City, amid transfer interest from Hull City this week. However, he admits the striker could yet depart if the club receive a suitable offer. The Tigers launched a bid for the Swans number nine earlier this week, which WalesOnline understands was in the region of £10m. "One club does a proposal, the other club sees if he's good, if he's not good, he rejects it. "I don't know exactly the numbers on that [the bid], so I think the club in this case need to see what is the right valuation for the player. "We're really happy. Vipi is really happy with us. "If the right offer comes then we speak. If not, we keep going. "The sun is here today so he's happy like we are at the moment. He's really happy here. "But of course, the market is open and you never know, but I think it's part of being a professional and Vipi is a really good professional." WalesOnline understands the Swans would only entertain offers of around £20m for the 24-year-old, and Matos admits deals elsewhere are likely to come into the club's thinking. "I think that valuation fluctuates even during the window," he added. "We see the amount of deals between clubs in the Championship and clubs from other leagues and even from the Premier League. "So that fluctuation is related with that as well. It always depends how the market is, the value, how we value that player. "It's not my place to give a number. It's my place to see the situation and to train with Vipi while he is here with me and I hope he will be with me after [the window closes]." Vipotnik could well be in line for a start for Saturday's Championship opener with Stoke City, with new signing Ross Stewart still working towards full fitness following his recent free transfer. One man that also won't feature is centre-back Cameron Burgess, with the club confirming on Thursday the Australian international had suffered a ruptured Achilles. It's understood Burgess could be sidelined for as much as nine months, meaning he's unlikely to play again this season, after limping out of the Carabao Cup first round defeat to Birmingham City last weekend. "I think Cam is an important player for all of us," Matos added when giving his reaction to the news. "He's one of the main players of the team. "He played all the games last season in the Championship then the World Cup. "Unfortunately for him he has this situation now. "We are here for him and for the family as a club. He knows that he has all our support and we know as well that he has the right mentality and the right character to bounce back." Matos was believed to be keen on adding a centre-back to his squad before Burgess's injury, and it remains to be seen whether those plans will accelerate heading into the final few weeks of the window. Asked if the timeframe of the former Ipswich Town man's absence potentially changed his transfer plans, Matos added: "We look at the window in the way in the same way, so there's a lot of there's options. "There's players and we will see what we need to do regarding that and that's that's always in the moment. "I think first is the respect we need to show for the situation of Cam, so our mind and our thinking is first on him more than anything and then we look on the market in the same way. "I said that of course we need more depth in one or two positions.
