Felix Horn Myhre: Striker talks 'influential' in convincing me to join West Brom The new signing was talking to the club’s in-house media team. New boy Felix Horn Myhre has revealed the major role fellow Norwegian Aune Heggebo played in convincing him to join Albion. Horn Myhre this week became the club’s newest signing when he arrived from SK Brann in a deal which will cost the Baggies an initial £2.5million. It comes just 12 months after his fellow Norway international Heggebo made the same switch and Horn Myhre explained how he sought the striker’s counsel before agreeing the deal. “Aune has been really influential in helping me come here,” the 27-year-old told the club’s official website. “I’ve spoken to him a few times and he’s been really, really positive about everything here. “He’s been praising the culture in the squad, the togetherness in the dressing room, the facilities, the fans and the staff. He spoke really fondly of the coaching staff and he’s really enjoyed his time here. “When I spoke to him, it was quite clear that this could be a place that I enjoy being at as well. I think him being here will help me a lot. It’s always nice to have someone you can speak your own language to when you go abroad. “He’s a friend of mine from before so it’ll be really nice to see him again. He’ll be able to help me find a place to live, get to know the group, show me around and help with day-to-day stuff.” Heggebo scored nine goals in his first year in English football and Horn Myhre continued: “He’s been here for a year so knows plenty about the place. That knowledge will help me settle quicker. I saw quite a lot of Aune playing for Albion last year. “I don’t know how many 90-minute games I have watched, but I’ve certainly watched a few. I’ve obviously seen all of Aune’s goals.” Horn Myhre is eager to help Albion fight at the right end of the Championship table this season, after they narrowly avoided relegation last season. Only an unbeaten 10-match run under James Morrison, who has now been appointed head coach on a permanent basis, stopped them falling into League One. Horn Myhre is confident better times are ahead. He said: “I know last season was a bit tough, but I felt like last year was a year for West Bromwich Albion where the team would hit the post and the ball would roll away, but the opponent would hit the post and it would go in. “The new boss took over and things looked a lot better, and I really think that together, we can make this season a really good season.”
