Birmingham City have signed a full-throttle full-back in Kristoffer Lund – according to the man himself. Blues acquired Danish-American leftie Lund from Italian side Palermo last week and he could make his debut against Swansea City this weekend. The 24-year-old has arrived to replace Kai Wagner after his return to MLS club Philadelphia Union and Lund will battle Alex Cochrane for a spot in Blues’ starting XI. FOLLOW ON FACEBOOK! All the latest Blues news on Birmingham Live’s Birmingham City FC Facebook page “Blues can expect a guy that will always try to do his very best in every situation, no matter if I'm doing well or having a tough game,” Lund told Blues+. “Expect a guy who is going to be able to run a lot, who is physically strong, and defensively one-v-one very good and always willing to sacrifice myself to help my teammates.” Chris Davies wanted a direct replacement for Wagner to give Blues a more attacking option at left-back. Lund recorded two assists in 33 matches in the Bundesliga last season while on loan at FC Köln and frequently created goals during his spell at Swedish side Hacken. Lund added: “The coach is very demanding and very clear about what he wants from me. We spoke about my strengths, being physical and being a great runner, at the same time the coach demands a lot of offensive output from me and a guy who can help the team improve which I think I've got the capability to do, but I'm also humble in that I know I've still got a lot to learn. “I think it was a very good test for me to experience the Bundesliga and I proved myself very well by maintaining the level and playing the entire season, but at the same time England is a completely different calibre. It's going to be tough, I know it is, but I'm ready.”
