Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen scored twice as Galatasaray were held to a 2-2 draw by newly-promoted Corum in their season opener at Rams Park on Friday night. The Nigerian international opened the scoring shortly after the restart after both sides failed to find the back of the net in the first half. Osimhen connected with a perfectly delivered cross from former Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira before firing home to give the Yellow-Reds the lead. Corum responded strongly, with Alexandros Kyziridis and Jesus Andres Ramirez Diaz scoring to turn the game around and give the visitors a 2-1 advantage heading into the final stages. However, Osimhen rescued a point for Galatasaray in the 90th minute, rising highest to meet a corner from Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Sara and powering his header past the goalkeeper. The brace continues Osimhen's impressive goalscoring form since joining Galatasaray from Italian club Napoli in the summer of 2024. It is also expected to increase uncertainty surrounding his future at the club, with the Nigerian international already linked with moves to several clubs, including Premier League club Arsenal and Saudi Arabian Al Hilal, before the end of the current summer window. Despite the brace, the Nigerian striker will be disappointed with the result as pressure continues to mount on manager Okan Buruk and the club's management over their transfer activity this summer.
