Stoke City are able to take more than 500 more supporters to Wolves than some of their Championship rivals due to a quirk in policing. Blackburn Rovers have had a request rejected for more tickets after selling out its 2,020 allocation, reports the Lancashire Telegraph, and some of their fans have pointed out that Stoke had the luxury of 2,557 tickets. But it has emerged that Stoke supporters will be housed in the Steve Bull Lower Tier at the request of local police and the safety advisory group rather than in a smaller new away section. The Wolves-Stoke match has been moved to a 12.30pm kick-off on Saturday, August 29 and the allocation sold out before even the sale window was extended to all season ticket holders. Stoke start their competitive season with a Carabao Cup first round tie at home against Oldham Athletic on Saturday before kicking off their Championship campaign a week later at home against Swansea.
