Norwich City have the intention of bringing Cercle Brugge’s Lawrence Agyekum to Carrow Road.
That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share a short report on Norwich City.
The Championship side are looking to strengthen their midfield this summer.
Last month, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy of talks with Hellas Verona for Cheikh Niasse.
Meanwhile, the Canaries have added two midfielders; Sam Field and Andre Brooks; to their squad in this window.
Norwich City looking at another midfielder
Sacha Tavolieri reports that hasn’t stopped the English club from considering a move for the Cercle Brugge man.
The 22-year-old initially joined the Jupiler Pro League side on loan from Red Bull Salzburg in July 2024 and made his stay permanent a year later.
His preferred role is in the middle of the pitch, but he can also operate in other positions, including as a right-back. Last season, the Ghana international played 31 matches, mainly as a right wing-back.
This has Lawrence Agyekum attract Norwich City’s interest. The journalist claims the English club and SK Rapid Wien are keen on signing him and both have explored the possibility.
Tavolieri doesn’t specify whether they contacted his camp, the Belgian club or both. It’s also unclear whether Philippe Clement is considering him for midfield or another role.
Summer deal on cards
The player has a contract until 2029, and Transfermarkt value him at €1.5m. His highest value was €2.5m in June 2025.
Lawrence Agyekum is ‘on his way out’ this summer and Cercle Brugge are open to selling him.
This should please Norwich City and Rapid Wien. However, the journalist makes no mention of their request, and whether the price would be affordable for the Canaries.
