Wolves are edging closer towards completing the signing of Standard Liège’s Rafiki Saïd. The English club have been active this summer and have already signed Kieran Trippier and Raúl Jiménez on free transfers. Last month, Wolves appointed César Peixoto as their new manager, and he arrived from Gil Vicente. The Championship side want to provide Peixoto a squad good enough to return to the top flight next year. For attack, they have made advances to sign Saïd. Wolves medical on Friday Sudinfo journalist Kevin Sauvage took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to provide a short update on the winger. The 26-year-old has reached an agreement with Wolves on personal terms. Sauvage adds he has made a trip to England and will undergo a medical on Friday. There’s no mention of a transfer fee while his former club, Troyes, retain a 10% sell-on clause. Another journalist, Sacha Tavolieri, took to X to claim César Peixoto’s side will sign the Comoros international for €10m including bonuses. He will sign a four-year contract and undergo medical tests on Friday. In another post on X, he claims the fixed fee is €9m and the €1m bonus will come into effect if Wolves return to the Premier League. Tavolieri also states Rafiki Saïd is in England to carry out medical tests and other transfer formalities. He further adds the attacker will receive a three-year contract with an option for another year. It’s safe to assume the Molineux club have a deal in place with Standard Liège. Saïd’s move to the Championship side should go through in the next few hours or days at the latest. Who is Rafiki Saïd The winger was born in Comoros but spent his entire youth career at Stade Brestois. He spent 11 years with the Ligue 1 side, of which the final year was with their first team. Rafiki Saïd left them for Nîmes in 2022, and Troyes signed him a year later. His form for the latter convinced Standard Liège to sign him in July 2025. Last season, the player managed eight goals and five assists from 38 matches, mainly operating in his preferred position on the left wing.
