Nicky Hayen provides Burnley injury update ahead of West Ham opener Injury update ahead of Burnley’s league opener against West Ham Burnley have no fresh injury concerns to contend with ahead of their big Championship opener against West Ham. The Clarets kick off their league campaign with a tough opening challenge against the title favourites at Turf Moor on Sunday. While Burnley are already without a few long-term injury absentees, like Jordan Beyer, Josh Cullen, Enock Agyei and Jaydon Banel, the only other fitness-related issue involves Ashley Barnes, who has only just returned to the club after penning a new one-year deal. “Just a few players,” Hayen said, when asked which players will not be available for Sunday. “Josh Cullen is, of course, out. Enock is out. Etienne Green is out. Ashley Barnes as well, these are the only ones who are out.” Subscribe now for HALF PRICE and catch every minute of our Clarets coverage this season - from pre-season to the final whistle. In Foster’s case, the striker returned late to pre-season training following his involvement for South Africa at this summer’s World Cup. In Broja’s case, meanwhile, he’s barely featured in pre-season and looks to be out of favour under Burnley’s new boss. “They're both fit, so we try to get them as fit as possible for the squad,” Hayen said. As for the Hammers, Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed Keiber Lamadrid and Tomas Soucek will both miss out through injury, while revealing his side have “a couple more issues”.
