Jamie Vardy to West Ham United could actually happen - The West Ham Way

West Ham United have not yet ruled out the signing of Jamie Vardy this summer.
With just over two weeks left in the transfer window, West Ham United have yet to bolster their striker options. With Callum Wilson and Callum Marshall leaving the club, Taty Castellanos and Pablo Felipe are the only ones at the club. However, you could argue that neither of them is a ‘proper’ number nine.
The Irons are serious about signing AZ Alkmaar striker Troy Parrott; the Irishman has become the priority signing after a deal was agreed with Celtic for Belgium international midfielder Arne Engels.
Parrott may not be the only striker coming into the club over the next two weeks. Nuno is going to be playing a 4-4-2 formation, so it would make sense to have four strikers on the books.
Pablo and Taty would be the more creative role/second-striker options, while potentially Parrott and Jamie Vardy could be the options to play that proper number nine role of getting in behind and scoring lots of goals.
At 39 years old, Vardy wouldn’t be starting every single match; that would be Parrott’s role. But to have him off the bench for the last 20 minutes or starting the odd match, just like Wilson did last season. Vardy would be a brilliant signing, especially when you consider the impact he’d have on the squad too.
According to ExWHUEmployee: “Jamie Vardy and Reiss Nelson are both still on the radar, and a decision whether to go through with the deals will be made soon.“
Let’s hope the club goes through with a deal for the former England international because I think it would really boost our chances of automatic promotion and the fans would absolutely love him.
