Everton unveil Hill Dickinson Stadium enhancements including images of new-look tower
Everton are bringing in a series of matchday changes at Hill Dickinson Stadium for the 2026/27 season following feedback from fans
Evertonians returning to Hill Dickinson Stadium for the 2026/27 season will see a series of improvements across the Blues’ home on the Mersey waterfront following operational reviews and feedback from supporters during the first campaign.
Meanwhile images of how the new-look interior of the Hydraulic Tower, set to become a premium matchday destination, have also been shared.
The changes, which include reducing the period that roads surrounding the 52,769 capacity venue are closed before kick-off (from two hours to 90 minutes) will be implemented from Everton’s Premier League opener against Crystal Palace on August 22 onwards, but clubs chiefs have revealed them ahead of their final pre-season friendly at home to Lille this Saturday.
For the opening three home Premier League fixtures – against Crystal Palace, Manchester United and Ipswich Town – a new trial will see selected pints of beer available for £4.50 during the first 45 minutes after the stadium opens, with 50p from every qualifying pint sold donated to the 1878s.
This initiative to help fund supporter-led matchday displays, is one in a series of changes at Hill Dickinson Stadium that also include improvements in Club View, extended post-match opening in the South Stand and a range of accessibility enhancements.
The wider stadium campus will continue to evolve, with the historic Hydraulic Tower set to enter an exciting new chapter following significant investment to restore and bring the Grade II-listed building into active use. Subject to local authority approval, the Tower will become a distinctive Premium matchday destination as well as an events and hospitality venue on non-matchdays, opening up one of the site’s most important heritage assets for supporters, visitors and guests to experience.
There will also be more reasons to arrive early, particularly during the summer and early autumn, with live entertainment and DJs on the Budweiser Plaza, alongside increased food and drink outlets, more mobile beer sellers and the continuation of the popular self-service beer stations.
Installation of personalised stones within The Dock Lines will continue, while improved wayfinding signage is being introduced throughout the stadium to make it easier for supporters to locate seats, facilities and other areas.
Andrew Middleton, Everton’s president of business operations, said: “Hill Dickinson Stadium has already established itself as an outstanding home for Everton and, importantly, this is only the beginning. We are committed to continually evolving the stadium, learning from every event and every matchday so that the experience keeps improving season after season.
“Whether that means investing in heritage assets such as the Hydraulic Tower, improving accessibility, expanding food and drink options, or introducing initiatives like our support for the 1878s, our focus remains the same: creating the best possible experience for Evertonians while strengthening the atmosphere, identity and sense of belonging that make this stadium unique.
“We know how important it is that our new home reflects Everton's identity, heritage and culture. Work on the next phases of ‘Evertonisation’ is already underway and we look forward to sharing more with supporters as those plans take shape throughout the season.”
CLUB VIEW ENHANCEMENTS
Club View Members will notice a number of significant changes when they return for the new campaign. New padded seats have been installed throughout the area, while the Club View concourse has been revamped with additional food and drink service points being installed.
Changes to the £10 matchday credit system will also make it easier for groups attending together, with Members able to pool or use the credit of others within their group when purchasing food and drink. Further improvements are planned, with the ability to use Club View credit through self-service machines currently in development and expected to be introduced later in the season.
NEW FOOD AND DRINK OPTIONS
Two new food concepts will be introduced for the new season, further expanding the choice available to supporters across the stadium. The People’s Bakery will offer a new range of pies, headlined by the all-new Chicken Balti Pie alongside a selection of matchday favourites, while also generating funds to support the work of Everton in the Community.
A new dedicated Chip Shop on Level 2 of the South Stand will also open, providing supporters with another food option on matchdays. Pepsi’s outlet on the Budweiser Plaza will remain in place as a permanent matchday fixture, serving a range of Pepsi ‘Crafted Beverages’, including the exclusive ‘Toffee Edition’ created for Evertonians.
Menus across the stadium will continue to evolve throughout the campaign, reflecting seasonality, individual fixtures and matchday themes.
Elsewhere, the number of shelving units on concourses has been doubled, giving supporters significantly more places to put down food and drinks, while the Doritos Experience in the Upper East Stand will continue. Improvements to Forever Blue Rewards integration are also being introduced to make it easier for supporters to collect points through eligible spending at the stadium.
ACCESSIBILITY IMPROVEMENTS
Working closely with Everton Disabled Supporters’ Association (EDSA), a number of accessibility improvements have been made ahead of the new campaign.
The number of on-site Blue Badge parking spaces has increased, (to the second highest in the Premier League behind Manchester City), alongside revised traffic management arrangements within the Ten Streets area designed to enable more Blue Badge holders to park closer to the stadium. Additional low-level shelving has been installed on concourses, while cup holders have been fitted to all Personal Assistant seats.
Disabled Season Ticket Members will also benefit from improved online ticketing functionality, providing a simpler way to transfer their ticket to a nominated supporter or list it for resale.
Other additions include Accessibility Bag Exemption Tags for supporters who need to bring essential medical or accessibility items into the stadium and a new Access Passport, providing useful stadium information while allowing supporters to share individual requirements with the Club.
Waterproof ponchos will also be available in the autumn for supporters using wheelchair viewing platforms during poor weather, while carefully managed access to Nelson Dock will help provide a safer and more controlled route for disabled supporters returning to their vehicles after matches.
AROUND THE STADIUM
The Western Terrace steps will become accessible on non-matchdays, providing greater public access to this part of the stadium and the waterfront, while entrances and wayfinding for Premium Members accessing the West Stand have also been improved.
On non-matchdays supporters can also continue to visit 53° North, Christopher Ward’s showroom at Hill Dickinson Stadium – the world’s first watch boutique integrated into a football stadium – offering fans the opportunity to explore the watchmaker’s collection from within Everton’s waterfront home. The Everton Store will benefit from improved external signage and additional opportunities for supporters to personalise merchandise on matchdays and non-matchdays.
LOOKING AHEAD
Hill Dickinson Stadium will continue to evolve throughout the 2026/27 season and beyond, with further enhancements already being considered as part of future phases of work.
In the South Stand, the club will continue to monitor the use of toilet facilities during peak periods. Supporters will also be encouraged to make use of facilities towards the South East corner and East Stand, where queues are typically shorter.
Further phases of the stadium branding programme are also being developed, including additional ‘Evertonisation’ (details reflecting the Blues’ identity) within the seating bowl and the treatment of exposed concrete areas.
The club will continue to work closely with supporters and gather feedback throughout the season, helping to shape future improvements to the matchday experience at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
