The Catalan giants are said to still be over £15m short of what City will accept, but a fresh report from Team Talk claims a deal could well be reached before the new Premier League season begins. Rodri is believed to have already agreed terms with Barca, who are said to “remain confident” that they’ll get the deal done in due course. That’s according to Sky Sports News, who say that Bayer Leverkusen and England defender Jarell Quansah is now on their radar, after an impressive debut season in the Bundesliga. The ex-Liverpool defender, who joined his current team for £30m last summer, was famously sent off in England’s World Cup last 16 clash against Mexico. The report says Gunners boss Mikel Arteta admires Quansah’s ability to play either in central defence or at right-back, and that Leverkusen are likely to demand “considerably more” than the fee they paid Liverpool.
