Don’t get me wrong, I’m not thrilled about the prospect of Bornauw leaving on loan. It seems pointless to me. But the fact we already appear to be well on the way to signing Elvedi gives me comfort that we won’t be spending the entirety of the last few weeks of the window searching for another centre-back. Farke has already worked with Elvedi too when the German took charge of Monchengladbach for the 2022/23 campaign. On paper at least, Elvedi looks to be a solid addition.
